International Conference on Transdisciplinary Research for Sustainable Tourism Development
October 6-8, 2017
About the conference
The purpose of the Conference is to define the interconnections between tourism and technology for a more peaceful and sustainable society. It will bring together academics, policy makers, practitioners and other stakeholders from across the globe to discuss the latest advances in the field. The conference will discuss new academic findings and their application in planning and development strategies, assessment tools and decision making processes.
The conference creates the basis for discussion on new ways of thinking, planning and managing tourism activities. Awareness on these questions holds all the actors (citizens, investors, politicians and companies) that may adopt, from their different standpoints, on how to take the road of sustainability. In the future, travelling, for instance, will be more demanding, regarding sustainability goals, and will certainly change the paradigm of tourism.
Tourism may be part of the solution for local and regional development, for natural and cultural preservation and for bringing closer different people, thus paving the way for a more equal and conscious global community.
This year the Conference is organized by the Discover Transylvania’s Reaches Cluster in collaboration with Babes-Bolyai University, Faculty of Geography, in Cluj Napoca.
